If you’re thinking about joining us Girona Bike Tour, here’s a sampling of one of the day’s on the tour.
It’s Day 5 of your bike tour in Girona, Spain and you awake excited about today’s ride out to the coast. We’ll gather for breakfast and discuss the day’s route. Perhaps you’ll try some pa amb tomàquet (a typical Catalan breakfast dish; literally ‘bread with tomatoes’) and wash it down with a café con leche(coffee with milk).
Today, we’ll be doing a loop that visits the fortified town of Tossa de Mar, situated on a cliff high above the Mediterranean Sea. We’ll continue northward, hugging the coast as we watch with waves crash to our right. And while most of the day is mildly rolling, we’ll still have an effort to put in on the Sant Grau as we return toward Girona. With a pitch at times of about 14% it is a challenge, especially late in the ride.
Back in town, there’s still some time to explore the labyrinth of medieval streets that make up Girona’s Barri Vell (Old Quarter) and maybe even get in a customary siesta before we gather for our final dinner together as a group.
