It’s Day 5 of your trip, you wake up in your country, villa-style room to views of Mont Ventoux…the mountain you challenged (and won) on yesterday’s ride. Hearing your stomach growl for yet another amazing French meal, you sit down along side your fellow riders to a traditional French breakfast of specialties fresh-baked only hours before and discuss the day’s ride…a long, gradual climb high along the cliffs of the Gorges de la Nesque.
As you finish your café au lait and prepare to saddle up, you turn on your GPS to show the way. You head out on a new adventure to continue your exploration of Provençale villages, mountains, lavender fields and oak forests at your own pace. After a quick dip in the pool upon your return, you and several others in the group head into town for lunch at a local restaurant your trip leader has suggested. While several fellow travelers decide to head back for an afternoon siesta, a few of you sift through suggested afternoon activities. You decide on a wine tasting from a local vineyard.
As evening approaches, the sunset casts a majestic purple light this region is famous for. You arrive back at your home for the week, feeling almost local with your newfound treasures. Hungry, you are pleased to find the group congregating in the garden with wine and olives from a orchard down the road. You then sit down for a beautiful meal prepared in-house by a local chef. Now this is what we call, La Vie Provençale!
