The clouds have cleared, the streets are mostly dry and the bright New Mexico sun is high in the sky. It looks amazing! So how come the thermostat reads only 15 degrees Fahrenheit? Still cold, but we could resist to get out for a ride. The surrounding Sandia Mountains look incredible with their snowy peaks and we figured that the climb up to the La Luz trailhead would be spectacular today. Besides, climbing for 2.5 miles with an average of 7% should warm us up. Not too sure about the decent though. Either way, it’ll be good winter training for bike tours.
We brought along the helmet cam to capture the climb. Hmmm…. it’s a bit shaky… probably because that hill feels pretty steep, especially when it tops out at 11%. It makes keeping your head still, pretty tough!
